Magnit CEO says asks Deputy PM to freeze retail legislation changes

MOSCOW, Nov 27 (PRIME) -- Russian retailers offered a moratorium on changes in the trade legislation at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak on Monday, Magnit CEO Olga Naumova said after the meeting.

“We have submitted a proposal on moratorium on changes of trade legislation today at the meeting. We hope that it will get support in all aspects. It is important that legislation be stable and unchanged for at least a year or two at the time when market participants are relaunching self-regulation,” Naumova said.

She said that participants of the Retail Companies Association uniting the Russian key retailers have expressed commitment to the Code of Good Practices. The association has created a committee for resolution of disputes with suppliers.

According to Naumova, Kozak said he wanted to hold such meetings regularly and that the next meeting will be held no later than March 2019.
